NILCOTT®Reclyed

Manufacturer NIL Textile, Czech Republic

NILCOTT® Recycled is a groundbreaking material that combines sustainability with practical functionality. It is made from 50% post-consumer recycled cotton obtained in Spain from European textile waste and 50% organic cotton from Greece. This combination combines environmentally friendly recycling processes with responsible, organic cotton production.

What is special about NILCOTT® is its ability to be completely recycled at the molecular level at the end of its useful life. This means that the material can be returned to the production cycle - without any waste.

Sustainability down to the last thread

Cotton is one of the most commonly used textile materials, but also one of the most environmentally damaging. The production of a single T-shirt requires up to 2,700 liters of water, over 4 kg of CO2 and numerous chemicals and pesticides. At NIL Textile, we do everything we can to drastically reduce the negative impact of cotton. With one kilogram of recycled cotton, you save up to 14,740 liters of water, 23 kg of CO2, 56 kWh of energy, 1.1 kg of chemicals and 10.5 m² of land.

Where does Nilcott® come from?

They source the raw material for NILCOTT® Recycled from their partners in Spain. The fabric is then manufactured and the clothing is sewn in their workshop in the Czech Republic. The production and processing of NILCOTT® organic cotton, on the other hand, takes place in certified facilities in Greece. They use the same recycling methods for both recycled materials: They are either mechanically recycled in Spain or molecularly recycled in Austria. Here you can find out exactly how the recycling works.

Manufacturer Stanley/Stella , Bangladesh/China
Finished in Switzerland at Werk5
Product: Coral Beanie

Stanley/Stella uses only GOTS-certified organic cotton, which comes from non-genetically modified seeds and is grown without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Since 2018, they have also only used recycled polyester, which is obtained from recycled PET bottles. Depending on the model, between 38 and 80 plastic bottles with a capacity of 500 ml are needed for production. Hardly any industry in the world is as unsustainable as the textile and clothing industry. Stanley/Stella has taken on responsibility for acting differently since day one. Find out more here more about Stanley/Stella and what they are doing for a sustainable textile industry.

Our beanies are finished in collaboration with Werk5 in Utzensdorf, where our labels are produced and sewn on.

Our goal is to produce the next production of beanies in Europe to reduce the impact on our environment.
